Disturbingly, almost all crimes committed anywhere in Nigeria today are automatically marked as the work of Fulanis

Bashir Ahmad, a former presidential aide, said that it is annoying that every crime committed in almost any crime in the north, south, east, west, west and Nigeria today will be automatically marked as the work of “Fulani”.

“I am not trying to justify the obvious atrocities committed by certain criminals among the Fulani herders in parts of this country. These outrageous acts are condemned wholeheartedly and should be resolved decisively with all the power of the law. But, it is disturbing that almost every crime committed today in the north, south, east, west and anywhere in Nigeria is automatically marked as the work of “Fulani”.

We seem to have completely eliminated the existence of community conflicts, personal disputes and other crimes, and now it is all blamed on Fulani. Worse, from the expansion, the northerners, especially Hausa, were also the victims of the same atrocities. Very bad!

The strong Fulani voice needs to make more voices to deal with these dangerous and false narratives that are driven in every corner of the country. Unfortunately, this growing trend in blanket labels has led to an increase in hatred and misunderstanding, with many innocent people bearing the brunt.

The truth is that every tribe, Fulani, Yoruba, Igbo, Tiv, Ijaw, etc., has good people and bad people. No group is immune to this reality. Therefore, unjustly judge many of the good and peaceful Fulani people based on the actions of the bad elements in them. ”
