
A 28-year-old man, Thanksgiving Frans Gololo Arrested In December 2024, Seshego, Polokwane, South Africa, was sentenced to statutory R3PE in a charge of statutory R3PE after DNA testing.
The results show that despite initial accusations that he had impregnated a 13-year-old girl, he was not the baby’s father.
The man has been detained since his birth at Seshego Hospital on Christmas Day, and the defendant has always denied any involvement with the minor.
The case sparked anger and concern in the community and sparked conversations about the safety and protection of young girls.
The Polokwane community also expressed deep frustration about teenage pregnancy issues.
Gololo appeared in Seshego District Court outside Polokwane on Monday morning, March 3, 2025.
According to the DNA investigation, the man was released on bail.
Mashudu Malabi-Dzhangi, spokesman for the National Prosecution Agency (NPA), said the prosecutor’s directors are still determining the next step in the case.
