A doctor has spoken out on the controversy surrounding Nollywood actress Regina Daniels’ drug test results.
Doctors dismissed suggestions that the test had been manipulated or influenced in any way.
Regina Daniels recently opened up about her drug test, following months of rumors accusing her of substance abuse.
Popular medical influencer Dr. Chidi A. Okoroafor responded to social media claims that Regina traveled abroad to “clear out drugs” before taking the test.
In this regard, he wrote:
“As soon as I hear ‘she went abroad to detox/flush drugs before testing’ I mark myself and my family from your generation’s ignorance.”
His comments quickly gained attention and sparked new reactions online.
Regina Daniels explained that she voluntarily took the drug test to clear her name and protect her children’s future.
In an emotional video shared on Wednesday, January 7, she denied being a drug addict and described the rumors as harmful lies. According to her, she doesn’t want her children to grow up believing false stories about their mother.
The accusations began during a difficult period in Regina Daniels’ marriage to billionaire politician Ned Nwoko, who publicly accused her of drug abuse.
In November 2023, the situation escalated when Regina’s wife, Laila Charani, also accused her of introducing drugs to her.
Following the accusations, a medical report claiming Regina tested positive for drugs circulated online, going viral and dividing opinion.
Many Nigerians questioned how the actress later returned a negative drug test result, sparking further speculation and criticism.
However, Dr. Okoroafo’s response provides a professional medical perspective on drug testing and helps dispel misinformation about how such testing works.
