Ewa Ekuma, a Poland-based Nigerian man, revealed that he dropped out of school and earned money in JSS3 to take care of his widow’s mother.
The father of four revealed this in a Facebook post Thursday, suggesting young people from impoverished families forget about education and the hustle and bustle.
“I have lived with my aunt from Lagos since I was 11. I attended one of the best private schools in Lagos, Tour touch elementary school and nursery Festac. It didn’t have a secondary school at that time,” he wrote.
“When I was in JSS3 at Festac College Lagos in Lagos, when I lost my village home, so I went a few months later. Mom just finished mourning and weighed over 7 kg. My brother left to study abroad.
“I looked into my mother’s eyes and said to myself: How could I leave this poor widow and return to Lagos because of going to school? This is not for me, so I threw down my education and ran in my eyes with my blood to make money.
“For the short story. I’m going to make a mom earn more than the monthly salary of a banker, and I’m spending more than the professor.
“Don’t let education distract you. If you can read and write, go out on the streets if you don’t have wealthy parents.”
