
Edo State Governor Okpebholo received a report on Monday asking the Executive Group, which investigated financial transactions of 18 Impotence local government chairmen from September 4, 1823 to November 2024. (EFCC) Discovery.

“The team’s investigation identified major violations in financial activities of 18 local government councils. The recommendations outlined in the report are designed to address these issues and promote transparency and accountability in local government finances,” iMohiosen submitted to the governor said during the report.
According to the panel, during the review period, 18 local government chairmen received 95 billion ₦95 billion from the Joint Allocation Accounts Committee (JAAC). However, the funds are allegedly not wisely because there are no meaningful projects locally to justify spending.
The report further claims that more than 10 billion were fraudulently deceived under the guise of “safety, environment and training.” The panel said the Chairman contributed to a special account, which was used as a channel to drain government resources and funds were transferred to individuals and companies.
In addition to the impeachment of local government chairs, the report also hints at former Governor Godwin Obaseki and leaders of the state’s People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
