Rivers State Government denies rumors that the High Court has prevented Deputy Admiral Ibokette Ibas from resuming formal duties.
The rumor was continued by troubled manufacturers seeking the fall of River State, a statement released by Dr. Edison Ehie said.
Chief of Staff Dr. Edison Ehie, who was suspended from Governor Siminalayi Fubara, debunked the rumor online that the state government has obtained a court injunction to prevent the sole Chief Executive, IBOK-IBETTE IBAS (RTD), deputy administrator, from performing his recovery duties.
The claims filed since last night have been rumored by the River State High Court issued an order that prevented the newly appointed sole Chief Executive Ibok-ete Ibas Deputy Executive (Retd.), from restoring in his duty position.
However, in a statement signed and issued on Thursday, Dr. Esch refuted the claim and described the report as false. He said it was an attempt to escalate the already tense political atmosphere in River State.

“My attention has caused a clear fake news in the delusional media and they are willing to continue to intensify the already tense political atmosphere in the state,” he said.
“Some people are spreading the wrong message that I got an order from the Rivers State High Court to prevent the sole administrator from taking up a position at the Government Building in Port Harcourt.”
“The malicious post claims that I allegedly approved the alleged order in a fictional lawsuit, allegedly proposing to challenge the “Presidential declaration of the State of Emergency in Rivers State” as “unconstitutional.”
Dr. Ehie refuted these claims and strongly described them as the work of troublemakers and unfounded social media.
“Usually, I would ignore this baseless social media, which annoys the troublemakers trying to cause discontent. But to prevent the public from being misled, I have to keep the record. Even such false initiators cannot spell my name correctly or provide any reliable legal details about the supposed lawsuit,” he said.
He continued: “It is important that I recommend that the public, especially the good people in Rivers, discount this baseless, false and malicious post because it aims to create bad blood among people while people portray me as inconsistent people.
“Since then, I decided to obey the law and carry out my affairs peacefully under the law, strengthen my faith and God, without any intention of showing me as a subvert,” he said.
Dr. Ehie urged the public to ignore these claims and noted that the River State Government is still law-abiding and committed to complying with the constitutive instructions.
