
A 42-year-old worker at Oluwole Orija, a 42-year-old electricity distribution company, has been electrocuted while working in the Ebute Metta area of Lagos state.
The incident occurred around 8:15 pm on Monday, March 17, 2025.
Lagos State Police spokesman Benjamin Hundeyin confirmed the incident in a statement Thursday, saying the victim was reconnecting and clearing the faulty wires in Borno Way in the Ayodele world when the tragic accident occurred.
Hundeyin said the victim was rescued and taken to the hospital for treatment but was confirmed by the doctor on duty.
“On Wednesday, March 19, at about 10:15 am, a staff member of an electric distribution company reported in the Yaba department that at about 17/03/25 hours in 2015, his colleague (named M’42) ‘M’42, was reconnecting and clearing the ebyodele nocta through Borno abyodele nydee nydee nyyodele ginculution, ebinta necta the ebecta, ‘ebecta,’ebecta,
“He was rescued and rushed to Ebute Metta for treatment at the federal medical center, where he was confirmed by the doctor on duty.
“According to the report, a team of detectives visited the scene. The hospital also visited the bodies examined and photographed.”
PPRO added that an investigation into the incident is underway.
