Kola Ologbodiyan, direct state propaganda secretary for the past National Democratic Party (PDP), predicts that the National Progressive Conference (APC) will explode after the rebellion of former Kaduna Governor Malam Nasir El-Rufai.
Naija News Recalling that after recently criticizing the party and Bola Tinubu’s administration, the APC was thrown to the Social Democratic Party (SDP) on Monday, March 10, 2025.
In a statement announcing his resignation, the former governor of Kaduna said the party had deviated from its core values and treated its members with disdain.
Part of his statement is “The people who currently control and operate the APC do not want to acknowledge the unhealthy situation of the party.”
Oologbodiyan reacted to El-Rufai’s defection, and in an interview with Arise TV’s “Morning Show”, he admitted that the former governor was the founding machine of APC and that his resignation would trigger the party’s crisis.
He said “The APC will explode in the party of President Asivaju Bora Tinubu, and anyone with questions should look into El-Rufai’s resignation. El-Rufai is the founding machine of all progressive conventions, and if the pioneering machine can leave the party, you can imagine what will happen.”
Ologbodiyan urged the media to incite the opposition in the fight in PDP’s lingering crisis, adding that a culture of silence should not be encouraged.
He added, “Let’s find a way to incite the opposition because there is no democracy without the opposition.”
