    Empire Philanthropic Family celebrates milestones, pays tribute to trailblazers at AGM in Lagos

    • The Empire Philanthropic Family reiterated its commitment to service and development of the South East at its 6th Annual General Meeting on October 30, 2025 at the Continental Hotel, Lagos.
    • The event, chaired by High Chief Sir (Dr) Darlington Nwabunike, was attended by key industry leaders to discuss regional growth and recognize excellence in business, leadership and philanthropy.

    De Imperial Philanthropic Family, a leading humanitarian and socio-cultural group dedicated to community development and empowerment, successfully held its 6th Annual General Meeting (AGM) on October 30, 2025 at the prestigious Lagos Continental Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos. The gathering attracted distinguished leaders from business, public service and the diaspora, reflecting the organization’s growing influence nationally and internationally.

    In his welcome address, the National Chairman, High Chief (Dr.) Sir Darlington Nwakaibeya, Ogbabalu Aku N’anwu Ojoto, Eze-Nwakaibeya, expressed his heartfelt gratitude to God for his unwavering grace on the organization. He commended the members for their unity, passion and dedication to a common mission of service and change.

    We honor God for sustaining this family and the values ​​that define us: compassion, philanthropy and an unwavering commitment to humanity. As we convene today, may we continue to uphold these principles with renewed strength,” Senior Chief Nwabunik said.

    He reiterated that the organization remained a catalyst for progress, especially in the South East region where many of its development interventions had a strategic focus.

    A key feature of the AGM was a thought-provoking panel session on the theme: “The Emerging South East: Reclaiming its Past Gloriousness”.

    Notable speakers include: Professor Okiora Okonkwo – Managing Director/CEO, United Nigeria Airlines, Chief Osita Chidoka (Ike Obosi), Barr. Dr. Sylvester Okonkwo

    Speakers emphasized the urgent need for local economic transformation, which is based on Akụluọụnọ’s philosophy of investing in local investment as the basis for sustainable progress.

    In his keynote address, Chief Chidoka challenged the audience to adopt a mindset of action rather than excuses:
    “We must move from a culture of alibis to a culture of agency. Progress begins when we take responsibility for shaping our own destiny,” he said to loud applause.

    The AGM also showcased the extraordinary milestones achieved by the organization in education, healthcare, social welfare and entrepreneurial development across communities.

    A highlight is the addition of nine new members, strengthening a network of individuals committed to impactful philanthropy. The campaign also includes some prestigious recognitions such as:
    Friedrich Foresti Honorary Award – Hon. Justice Roseline Nonoyem Ukeje (the first female judge of the Federal High Court), Evergreen Legend Award – Late Professor Humphrey Nwobu Nwosu, Sterling Profile Business and Entrepreneurship Excellence Award – Sir Ernest Azudialu Obiejesi, OFR (General Manager, Obijackson Group), Sir Louis Odumegwu Ojukwu Business and Entrepreneurship Excellence Award – Obiora Professor Okonkwo, CFR, Exemplary Professional Excellence Award – Inspector Ugochukwu Prince Orji.

    The meeting concluded with a renewed determination to deepen the humanitarian footprint and advocate for Nigeria’s unity, cultural heritage and sustainable development – ​​with a special focus on the South-East region.

    The Empire Philanthropy Family remains steadfast in its mission to empower communities, celebrate excellence and inspire a new generation of leaders committed to service.
