The Enugu State Games and Lotto Commission has announced the lifting of license renewal restrictions on game operators, as part of a broader reform to strengthen the industry and promote responsible gaming practices.
Arinze Arum, the Executive Secretary of the Commission, revealed this in a statement issued by committee spokesman Nwanneka Udeh.
Mr Arum said the committee has launched a new technology-driven platform designed to simplify renewal processes and other services to ensure increased efficiency and compliance.
“With the lifting of restrictions on license renewal restrictions, game operators can now seamlessly update their licenses with the newly introduced Enugu State gaming regulatory platform. This digital solution ensures faster approval, enhanced compliance monitoring, and a secure licensing process.”
As part of its regulatory reform, the commission introduced the gaming office in all 17 local government areas in Enugu State. In addition, it has hired game inspectors to enhance compliance monitoring and provides official game approval signs for licensed operators.
Mr Arum added: “We also strictly enforce the permanent structure to eliminate temporary stalls.”
The committee also launched upcoming initiatives including the Rangers Football Club Dream Big Raffle and the Good Career Project, which is expected to begin in the coming months.
Mr Arum further explained that the Enugu state gaming regulatory platform developed in collaboration with Goflux Services Limited will help automate compliance oversight and enhance revenue collection through digital payment channels.
“This is a game changer for the industry as we work to leverage technology to improve regulatory efficiency, increase revenue and ensure fairness in gaming operations. Therefore, the Enugu State Games and Lotto Commission urges all game operators to take advantage of a seamless online licensing update process and strictly adhere to new regulatory guidelines,” Mr Arum said.
