Leaders from Germany, France, Britain and Poland have issued a unified demand to Russian President Vladimir Putin: Agree to a 30-day ceasefire starting Monday, which may face full sanctions. The message was conveyed in a symbolic visit to Keefe, supported by a joint call with U.S. President Donald Trump. Leaders France’s President Emmanuel Macron, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer and Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk insisted on observing the ceasefire on land, sea and air. If successful, it will lay the foundation for immediate peace negotiations. An unconditional ceasefire means there is no condition, Zelensky said. Any attempt to impose conditions is a signal to delay the war and stop diplomacy. He added that Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov responded, saying Russia was resistant to any form of pressure, although he confirmed Putin supported the idea of a general ceasefire. However, he added that there are still many issues that need to be addressed regarding the proposal. The demand provided Russia with less than 36 hours of response. This also requires the rapid implementation of satellite-based monitoring and communication mechanisms. Four European leaders arrived together by train earlier on Saturday and were welcomed by Chief of Staff Zelenskys. They first paid tribute to the Ukrainian depraved people in Independence Square, and then held a private meeting at Marisky Palace, which lasted for more than three hours. Afterward, they held a conference call with President Trump, which Ukrainian officials called positive and specific calls. Over the past two months, Ukraine and its European allies have pushed for a ceasefire. Russia agreed in principle that Russia raised objections, including calling for a halt to the flow of Western weapons to Ukraine. Putin also repetitively focused on Natos’ expansion as a central issue in the conflict. In recent Truth-Social Jobs, Trump warned that further sanctions will be imposed by the United States and its partners if the ceasefire is not respected, indicating growing frustration with Moscow. Russia announced a 72-hour unilateral ceasefire on Victory Day commemoration, but Ukrainian forces reported an update to the artillery fire just minutes later. Video evidence provided to the media shows that the massive accumulation of Russian troops and armor contradicts the ceasefire claim. Despite these developments, the Kremlin is committed to providing a short-term, unilateral ceasefire rather than promising a longer truce. The latest news is scheduled to expire at midnight. Chinese President Xi Jinping and Brazilian President Luiz Incio lula da Silva participated in the Victory Day parade in Moscow on May 9, highlighting Russia’s continuous push to boost international legitimacy amid increasing global pressure. Meanwhile, Ukraine reported hundreds of Russian attacks during the so-called ceasefire. Although large-scale missile and drone strikes have ceased since Wednesday, the threat remains. The U.S. Embassy in Kiev issued a security alert on Friday citing a possible major air strike in the coming days. European postal leaders threaten Russia’s serious sanctions against Ukraine threaten Russia, first appearing on Linda Ikeji’s blog.
