Former federal secretary Olu Falae praised the legacy of the famous leader of the pan-Yuba social and cultural organization Ayo Adebanjo.
Naija News Earlier reports said Adebanjo died peacefully at the age of 96 at his Lekki Lagos residence on Friday, February 14, 2025.
Falae said in a discussion with the Pioneer: “He was one of the last Mohicans. Our contemporaries will continue his integrity and unwaveringness to support the right thing.”
The family confirmed to die
In a statement, the Adebanjo family said: “He died peacefully this morning at his 96-year-old Lagos home in Lekki on Friday, February 14, 2025.”
Distinguished lawyer and former action group organization secretary survived by his 94-year-old wife Christy Ayo-Adebanjo and his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The family praised him and said, “We will always cherish his commitment to truth, fairness and justice. His struggle for a truly independent and progressive Nigeria is complete and he continues to fight for it until his last breath.”
Funeral arrangements are pending
The family announced consultations with colleagues and interest groups at the appropriate funeral and detailed descriptions.
His residence, Lekki Stage 1, Ayo Adebanjo Close No. 8, Ayo Adebanjo Close No. 8, Lagos, Lagos and his Isanya near Ijebu Ode, Ogun State, Ogun State Ogbo’s residence.
