Nigerian rapper and activist Forarin Falana (commonly known as Falz) publicly criticized the recent murder of President Bola Tinubu in Benue State, accusing the government of not taking responsibility for protecting Nigerian life.
In a strongly worded statement shared by his official X handle on Monday, June 16, 2025, Falz expressed frustration at what he said was this recurring government negligence in the country’s worsening insecurity.
“You have always shown that you are unable to fulfill your primary responsibility to ensure the lives and property of citizens. This kind of daily statement does not cut it,” The rapper wrote.

Falz’s reaction occurred after the mass killing of Benu state. Basically, it was reported that more than 200 people were massacred in parts of Benue, allegedly by suspected herders. The tragic incident was condemned by many Nigerians and several outstanding figures in the entertainment industry.
President Tinob was criticized for his silence about the killing and eventually broke the silence through a post on X. In his statement, he announced: “Enough! I have directed the security agencies to take decisive action to arrest these evil perpetrators in all aspects of the conflict and prosecute them.”
The president also urged Benue’s political and community leaders to avoid inciting comments that could make the situation worse. He called on Governor Hyacinth Alia to immediately lead the state’s peace and reconciliation efforts.
“Our people must live in peace, and when various divided leaders work together harmoniously, it is possible that differences are identified and resolved by fairness, openness and justice,” he said. Tinubu added.
I have already bleed me to the pointless blood of Benue.
Enough! I directed the security agencies to take decisive action to arrest these evil perpetrators in all aspects of the conflict and prosecute them.
Political and community leaders in Benu…

Despite the president’s final remarks, many Nigerians remain uneasy about his delay in response. Especially because global religious leaders like the Pope have condemned Tinubu’s previous attacks on publicly resolving the matter.
