In a tragic incident, a woman named Favor Odoba has been accused of poisoning her husband of nine years, Abdul Kadir Nagazi, in Okenne, Kogi State.
The tragedy reportedly stemmed from jealousy over Abdul’s second wife, who recently gave birth to a baby boy – a milestone the couple had never achieved in their nearly decade-long marriage.
The report said Favor invited Abdul to spend a night with her on Saturday. Shortly after, he was taken to hospital, where doctors allegedly confirmed he had been poisoned through food and lethal injection. The suspect reportedly ran away after the incident and remains at large.
Engineer, cousin of the deceased. Abdulrazak Abdulraziz took to social media to express his anger at Monday’s funeral. He revealed Abdul had recently spent more than £2 million setting up a business for Favor and described her as a “demon in human form”.
“Your father is very, very lucky that I’m not home. It’s absolutely for the best for those who go to your house and meet your father, who gave birth to a demon like you, and they keep him alive. Your father is very, very lucky that I’m not home… See you can run, but you can never hide.”
Abdulraziz added a controversial element to his tribute, issuing a stern warning about marriage and behavioral patterns among young people, which he believed led to such “regression”.
“As a young boy growing up, whatever you do in life, don’t marry an Ebira girl who chooses to start having sex or having boyfriends at an early stage in her life. If you don’t want to live a regressive life… RIP bro.”
