The FCT Police Command has intercepted major illegal ammunition and arrested suspects related to the crime.
Police agents from the Nyanya division of the FCT Command worked in synergy with officials from the National Alliance of Road Transport Unions (NURTW) and tracked and arrested Nuhu Aminu, 32, of Katsina State, Nyanya Bus Terminal, on March 24, 2025.
The suspect was caught with 488 AK-47 on-site ammunition, cleverly hidden among two 25-liter Jerikas people, filled with palm oil to evade detection.

After interrogation, Aminu admitted that he was recruited by a real Yakubu Kachalla in Kasina who allegedly paid him N100,000 to collect illegal goods from an unidentified contact in Nasarawa and deliver them to Katsina.
The headquarters spokesman SP Josephine Adeh confirmed the development of Newmen, and the arrest highlighted the relentless efforts of the FCT Police Command to dismantle criminal networks and prevent the spread of illegal weapons, thus exacerbating violent crime.
She mentioned that the suspect was in custody and was conducting an investigation to arrest his accomplices and reveal the full scope of the weapon’s operation.
