The federal government has declared Friday, April 18 and Monday, April 21 as Good Friday and Easter Monday.
Home Minister Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo announced the holiday on behalf of the federal government.
In a statement released by Dr. Magdalene Ajani of Tunji-Ojo, the permanent secretary of the ministry, stressed the importance of embodying the virtues of sacrifice and love shown by Jesus Christ, and had to die for the redemption of mankind.
He also called on Nigerians to use the holidays to pray for peace, unity and stability of the country.
