    FG has expelled 828 illegal immigrants from Nigeria and transformed the country’s border security.

    These include integrating Nigerian passports into the public key directory of the International Civil Aviation Organization, allowing seamless verification globally, and a centralized visa approval center in Abuja to simplify visa processing.

    In order to support these measures, a 8.3-Petabyte data center has been built, and solar infrastructure has been introduced to ensure uninterrupted operations.

    Command and control center monitor all land and air entrance points to improve monitoring functions.

    According to the minister, as of Sunday, January 26, 2025, at least 97 international security interests have been recorded through API/PNR. These people will enter the country according to the manual passenger transport and analysis system.

    The minister pointed out that NIS cleared the backlog of 1,836,533 passports in 2023 in three weeks in 2023, and issued 1,836,533 passports in 2024. “

    He also said that the personalized process of centralized passports will start from 21 African countries on February 3, 2025.
