FG fulfilled its commitment to legion members and started 77,000 allowance payments

The federal government began paying N77,000 stipend to Legion members on March 26, 2025.

As promised, the N77,000 increase has been achieved, but payments for the arrears have not yet begun.

Six (6) months later, the federal government of Nigeria, led by Bola Ahmed Tinubu, finally fulfilled its commitment to pay stakes for the 7,700 (N77,000) Naira to members of the Legion.

This was noted yesterday because some Legion members shared screenshots of their alerts on different social media handles to prove that payments have started as promised.

The Nigeria Daily Report noted that the development came weeks after a legion member Raye was in a viral video that announced a rise in market prices for the Tinob government, and despite the high cost of living in the country, it paid 33,000 n33,000 to legion members.

It seems that the government listened to the voices of the masses this time and took the action it deserves.

Recall that the commitment consistent with the National Minimum Wage (Amendment) Act 2024 increased from N33,000 to 77,000 n77,000.

Most of the Legion members who declared honors were quickly saddened when they received N33,000 in another month.

Then, this issue caused a lot of concerns, as many government commitments disillusioned many of the problems.

Therefore, in the press conference, Minister of Youth Development Ayodele Olawande defended criticism of President Tinobu, said the delay was due to the budget allocations required when President Tinubu approved the growth bill, which were not carried out. He further urged Legion members to wait patiently because allowances should be paid, including the government’s promised owed

After the incident with the virus company, New York City Director General, Brigadier General Olakunle Nafiu, also addressed members of the Legion in Abuja, and the payment began at the end of March.

Currently, Corp members have confirmed that they have received N77,000 payments because they were ecstatic in the media yesterday as Corp members issued an alert to express happiness.

This is a good development and commendable act of the federal government. But while some Legion members are thrilled to fulfill N77,000 payments, many still expect the unmet payments promised by President Tinob.
