    FG introduces new payment structure to LG officials

    FG has introduced a new payment structure for LG officials.

    Nigeria News Nalin The report said the federal government has established a new system for payment of local government officials directly from Abuja under the Federal Account Allocation Commission (FAAC).

    This approach affects the main officials of local government administration, with eight to nine people receiving salaries through the central payment system.

    Under this new arrangement, each local government will serve as chairman and vice-chairman, as well as other key officials in charge of different departments. Positions include:

    1. Chairman

    2. Vice Chairman

    3. secretary

    4. Health Supervisory Councilor

    5. Agricultural Supervisor

    6. Education/Social Service Supervisor

    7. Labor Supervisor

    8. Persons with disabilities, legal consultants for humanitarian services and traditional institutions

    9. Safety statutory consultant

    10. Legal consultant for youth development and community work

    Officials say the new system is designed to ensure consistent and transparent salary.

    By processing payments in Abuja, the government aims to maintain financial order in local governments and reduce irregularities in salary distribution.
