    • The Chairman of the Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) has reportedly suggested that the federal government introduce amnesty and financial incentives for bandits, similar to previous schemes adopted for Niger Delta militants.
    • The Chairman said this approach could be an effective non-military solution to the escalating banditry and kidnapping crisis in the country.

The Chairman of the Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) has reportedly proposed that the federal government should grant amnesty and financial assistance to bandits, comparing it to the successful program implemented against militants in the Niger Delta.

The Chairman’s statement demonstrates that a non-military, motivational approach – modeled on the strategies used to quell militants in the Niger Delta – can effectively address the escalating banditry and kidnapping crisis currently plaguing parts of the country, particularly in the north.

The proposal immediately sparked debate because it suggested rewarding criminals responsible for widespread violence, kidnappings and economic destruction.

In other news… A Nigerian man, known as @sarkinnomaa on X (formerly Twitter), is going viral after he revealed that his girlfriend pays him money every time he confesses to her.

The man shared a screenshot of the N50 credit alert from his girlfriend, which was accompanied by a humorous conversation about the transaction.

His tweet immediately caused a heated discussion online and read as follows:

“She pays me 50 naira for every ‘I love you’ I say 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂. I woke up to a credit alert. My baby”.

During the chat, he joked, “Payment confirmed,” confirming the unique arrangement.

The comment section of this tweet quickly received mixed reactions from netizens.

“Question: What do you do for a living? I tell my baby ‘I love you.’ If you don’t make this a full-time job, I’ll be upset with you,” Sajim wrote.

“Does she not believe you’ll love her or what? Why encourage that in your relationship? Does it mean she’s committed to you for the rest of her life, or is it just temporary? Don’t encourage routines that will hurt you later,” Pre says.

‎Omoiya Onibata, “Hurry up and start working, you know how much 50 naira is😂”.
