At least 17 Almajiri students were lives in the catastrophic outbreak of an Islamic school in the Kaura-Namoda local government area in Zamfara state.
The fire started Tuesday night and also injured 16 students, according to Abdulrasaq Bello Kaura, a resident of the area.
Koala said the fire broke out for about three hours and was reportedly caused by stored corn and millet stems.

“This happened to Makaranta Mallam Ghali in their study hall. After they evacuated the students, there were about 100 houses in the house and they thought they weren’t staying in the house,” he said.
Kaura-Namoda Local Government Chairman Mannir Haidara confirmed the incident to the channel TV during a telephone conversation on Wednesday.
He said details about the incident will be provided later. According to Koala, the 17 dead were buried.

An oil tanker in Ibadan, the capital of Oyo state, fell, attracting the attention of residents.
