Katsina State Police Command arrested Alhaji Surajo Mai Asharalle and three others, allegedly allegedly attacking Hisbah officials and causing serious injuries during late-night law enforcement in the state’s Kofar Kaura dormitory.
According to sources from CPS Katsina, Nafi’u Aliyu Akilu, operations officer of the board of directors of Katsina State Hisbah reported that at around 2:30 a.m. on March 29, 2025, Hisbah officials were dispatched to stop a group of young people from playing football near a group of mosques in Tahajjud (Thahajjud (Night Prairers).

Police later mobilized to the scene, arrested the suspect and three accomplices, and recovered the guns used in the attack.
The injured victim was taken to Katsina General Hospital and later transferred to the Federal Teaching Hospital (FTH) Katsina for further treatment.
