
All football matches in Italy were postponed as respect after Pope Francis passed on Easter Monday morning.
The Vatican confirmed earlier today that the first ever Latin American pope died at the age of 88.
In a tribute to the bishop of Rome, all senior men and top fixtures under the age of 20 have been cancelled.
In a statement issued shortly after the death of the Pope, Serie A stated: “After the death of the Holy Father, the Lega Nazionale professional Serie A announced that the scheduled match between the Serie A and Primavera 1 championships, which are scheduled to be held today, has been postponed to a confirmed date.”
Starting from Easter Monday, starting from Turin and Udinese (11.30 am) on 11.30 am, there are four Serie A fixtures on Easter Monday.
The encounter will then be the conclusions of Cagliari with Fiorentina (2 pm), Genoa with Lazio (5 pm) and Parma with Juventus (7.45 pm) (7.45 pm).
In Primavera 1, the three games now are Roma U20 vs. Udinese U20 (11 a.m.), Monza U20 vs. Sassuolo U20, and Sampdoria U20 vs. Torino U20.
It is not clear when the above game will be rescheduled according to Serie’s statement.
The death of Pope Francis was read by Cardinal Kevin Farrell of Vatican Camerlengo of the Church of Domus Santa Marta, where Francis lives.
‘At 7.35 this morning, the Roman bishop of Francis returned to his father’s home. His life was dedicated to serving the Lord and the service of the Church. ” he said.

“With His example as the true disciple of the Lord Jesus, we praise Pope Francis’s soul for the infinite, merciful love for God, a and forum.”
Pope Francis, who suffered from chronic lung disease and was removed from his lungs when he was young, was taken to Jegilly Hospital on February 14 due to a respiratory crisis that developed into double pneumonia.
He spent 38 days there, the longest hospitalization he had during his 12-year Pope.
However, he appeared on Easter Sunday the day before his death, wishing thousands of people in St. Peter’s Square.
