Senator Natasha Akpti-Udoagen warns Akpabio’s wife against harassment allegations
Kogi Central Senator Natasha Akpoti-uduaghan urged Senate President Godswill Akpabio’s wife, Unoma Akpabio, to distance herself from the ongoing allegations against her husband.
Akpoti-Uduaghan reiterated her harassment claims against Akpabio in a statement, noting that she has “specific evidence” to support her allegations. She advises Unoma Akpabio to avoid controversy for her well-being and family.
The dispute began with Akpoti-Uduaghan’s refusal to reassign his seat in the Senate. She claimed that the Senate president looked at her motion intentionally and was threatened because she refused to comply with what he called progress.
In response, Unoma Akpabio dismissed the claim, accusing the senator of making up stories for his personal gain. She then filed a defamation lawsuit against Akpoti-uduaghan, demanding 350 billion yuan in damages.
On March 1, 2025, Akpoti-Uduaghan issued a legal notice through his attorney, Victor Giwa, and issued a legal notice to Unoma Akpabio, reiterating that the matter was strictly between her and the Senate President. The letter, titled “Farewell to Senator Natasha Akpoti-uduaghan’s allegations of harassment and intimidation against Senate President Godswill Akpabio: To uphold your sanity and the sanity of your family,” urged Unoma to refuse to participate further.
The case continues to spark public debate when both sides stand firmly.
