
Operation Lafiyan Jama’a’s safe haven forces have arrested a suspicious Gunrunner in the Kaura local government area of Kaduna State.
Operation Safe Haven, Major Samson Nantip Zhakom’s media information officer, Safe Haven, Operation Safe Haven, disclosed this in a statement on Monday, March 3, 2025.
According to the statement, the suspect was arrested when the troops conducted a stinging operation based on credible intelligence on the weapons and ammunition movements.
During the March 3, 2025 operation, troops intercepted a blue Opel Vectra Saloon at the Mallagun checkpoint in Kaura Lga in Kaduna State.
After searching the vehicle, the troops found a forged revolver hidden in a black bag belonging to Mr. Anthony Elisha, 24, of Sanga LGA, Kaduna State.
During the preliminary questioning of the suspect, he confirmed ownership of the baggage containing the weapon and claimed that he had been dispatched by a civil police officer to deliver the weapon to another criminal in Rami Kura of Lair LGA, Kaduna State.
The suspect is in custody, providing information about his accomplices to assist the troops in follow-up operations to arrest civil police officers and other members of the criminal group.
“Operation Safe Haven is expected to keep its joint operational areas protected from criminals. We therefore urge the public to continue providing useful and timely information to the troops, while we advocate for the restoration of permanent peace.
