The 3rd Division and the troops of Operation Haven arrested two notorious kidnappers and recovered their weapons during the raid on the crime hiding place in the Barcelona local government area of Plateau State.
The military operation, conducted on Saturday, March 15 at 8:30 pm, targeted the kidnappers’ hiding place at Katume High Grounds, where credible intelligence has since shown that the kidnapping victims were often kidnapped there when ransom negotiations occurred.
Sources said the operation led to the arrest of two suspected kidnapping of the protagonists, identified as Bashir Mohammed and Ismail Mohammad.
A AK-47 rifle and a magazine were found from the criminal.
“The arrested suspect is currently in custody, providing useful confessions to help follow-ups aimed at arresting their accomplices and restoring more weapons,” one source said.
Operation Safe Haven has been conducting Operation Lafiyan Jama’a, which aims to address criminal activities in the plateau and neighboring countries.
