The Army revealed in a statement on Sunday, March 30, 2025 that after receiving the report of the kidnapping, the troops quickly mobilized and moved to the scene.
Upon arrival, they engaged in a fierce gunfight with the armed criminals, exerting high firepower, forcing the kidnappers to abandon their victims and flee to the forest.
The victims rescued include Mr. James Usman, Angigene of Angwan Abuja of Takum and Mr. Godwin Peter.
The victims were quickly evacuated to a medical facility for emergency treatment, while other passengers of the affected 18-seat Toyota were driven safely.
The statement added: “The commitment of the 6th Brigade of Nigeria remains firmly ensuring the safety and security of citizens in Talaba and beyond. We urge the public to continue to provide timely and credible information to security agencies to help us collectively fight the criminals’ struggle.”
