
The Nigerian Army forces rescued four kidnapping victims in the Karim Ramido local government area of Talaba State.
Acting Assistant Director, Army Public Relations, Captain Olubodunde Oni, 6th Brigade of Nigeria, revealed this in a statement on Friday, April 4, 2025, saying the victims were reunited with their families.
“As part of ensuring peace and security in Talaba State, the Nigerian Army and the 3rd Operation Rotary Stroke (OPWS) troops have achieved significant success in the ongoing military operation regulations, Operation Lafiyan Jamaa,” the statement reads.
“This operation aims to flush out bandits and other criminals and has greatly restored peace in many communities in the state. One area is the Andamin community in Karim Ramido Local Government Area, and young people express deep appreciation for the efforts of the Nigerian army.
“When visiting the camp of Andaming’s forces in a solidarity, the youth leader Alhaji Adamu Abubakar, who spoke on behalf of the entire youth agency, praised the troops’ dedication and commitment to maintaining peace and security in the region. He acknowledged the visible improvement of the security situation and provided constant support to the troops.
“In a show of kindness and appreciation, Andamin’s young men also promised to drill down the camp site to help the troops’ operations and welfare, and the project is planned to be completed within three days.
“In the related developments on 3 April 2025, the 6th Brigade troops responded quickly to credible intelligence on the ongoing kidnapping incident in Kariron village, Karim Ramido LGA.
“The troops moved quickly to the site, prompting the kidnappers to flee and abandoning the victim. Due to this timely intervention, four kidnapped men were successfully rescued and reunited with their families thereafter.
“Commander 6 Brigade/Department 3 OPWS, Brigadier General Kingsley Uwa praised the rapid and professional behavior of the heroic troops and reaffirmed the brigade’s commitment to ensure all communities in its area of responsibility. He further urged residents to continue to provide timely and reliable information to aid ongoing operations.
“The Nigerian army remains firm under the mission of protecting life and property and calls on all caring citizens to continue to support the military’s efforts to restore lasting peace in Talaba.”
