
Agents from Amotekun Corps, Ekiti State, arrested a 28-year-old former criminal, Faremi Ojo, allegedly threatening the lives of his family and attempting to cause them.
Abiodun Adeleye, head of communications at Ekiti Amotekun Corps, revealed that the suspect, a resident of Ilupeju-Ekiti in the Oye local government area, was arrested on Monday, February 17, 2025 after he filed a complaint from a brother among his brothers.
According to the complainant, Ojo has been posing a threat to family members and the community as a whole since his release from prison, where he served for his term in a money-making ceremony on artificial parts.
“The complainant reported that the suspect began to intimidate his family and community,” Adley said.
“He allegedly strangled their father, broke into his brother’s house, stabbed him in the head with a screwdriver after multiple threats and tried to K on other family members before escaping!”.
Witnesses confirmed that Ocho has been instilling fear in the minds of the people of the community, often waving cut bones, afose, crutches, knives and other dangerous weapons with charm.
Adeleye added that Amotekun agents responded quickly to the complaint, arrested the suspect and transferred him to the Amotekun headquarters in Ado-Ekiti for further investigation.
“During the trial, the suspect claimed that his actions were refused financial support for his ritual of freedom by his family,” Adley said.
He confirmed that the suspects, as well as the recovered weapons, have been handed over to the Ekiti State Police Department’s Quick Response Squad (RRS) for further investigation and necessary actions.
