Former Foreign Minister Dubem Onyia has passed away. He is 73 years old.

He died Monday after a brief illness – bypassed by his family and loved ones.
Chief Onyia dedicated his life to God and public services, leaving an indelible mark on the diplomatic landscape at home and abroad.
His tenure as Foreign Minister and Minister of State is his unwavering commitment to national interests, which remains his legacy.
He was a devout husband, father, brother, a pioneer, respected leader, mentor to many, and a very upright man.
His contributions go beyond government service to improve lives through his wisdom, generosity and dedication.
Chief Onyia’s wife, children, grandsons, brothers and sisters, many relatives, political allies and friends survived. Details of funeral arrangements will be announced in due course. ”
