Former Ogun State governor, Senator Gbenga Daniel, revealed that his former Senator Ibikunle Amosun fought teeth and nails to replace him.
Naija News Daniel served two terms as governor from 2003 to 2011 and was succeeded by Senator Amosun, who also served for eight years from 2011 to 2019.
Daniel recounts how Amosun tried to succeed him as governor, speaking in the book’s speech.
The book is the autobiography of the former attorney general and judge of the International Court of Justice of the late Prince Bola Ajibola.
Speaking at an event hosted by former President Olusegun Obasanjo, hosted by the Attorney General (AGF) and Attorney General Lateef Fagbemi and many VIPs, but Daniel recalls the later Ajibola saying he and Amosun were called together in the crisis of succession.
According to him, Ajibola asked Amosun to attend the book speech as well, waiting for his turn.
He said “He (Prince Ajibola) is the chairman of the Governor Elders Consultation Forum and he was able to call us together and tell my brother ibikunle Amosun to wait for his turn.
