Former Governor El-Rufai has been unknown for alleged opposition to the Tinubu government.
Nigeria News Nalin The former Kaduna Governor Nasir El-Rufai dismissed his claim on Monday that he failed to support Bola Tinubu during the 2023 presidential election President, and noted that he has moved on from such allegations.
With the support of all the Progressive Assembly, Tinubu won elections for the main opposition candidates – Atiku Abubakar of the People’s Democratic Party and Peter Obi of the Labor Party .
The chief APC chief El-Rufai has been at the center of political discussions and recently asserted that his view on governance will remain the same regardless of his role in the Tinubu-led government.
On Sunday, X user Yusuf Tukur tweeted on #realyusuftukur, claiming that Tinubu and his allies actively sought El-Rufai’s support before the election, but later accused him of not supporting the president.
“When they desperately sought El-Rufai’s support, #OfficialaBat and his fools sang Malam’s praise everywhere. But given their preference for dissatisfaction, they turned around and claimed that Malam didn’t even support PBAT. But these testimonies It’s another,” the tweet read.
In response, El-Rufai said through his X handling that he had no personal expectations of his political behavior, adding that evolving events are merely a reflection of human nature.
“We have done what we do for God, the country and the political party, and nothing is rewarded. What is constantly evolving is just another life experience and part of human nature. We have moved on, but their conscience will not let them sleep Very good. Thanks anyway,” he wrote.
El-Rufai further clarifies his position on governance, saying he disagrees with political pretending, likening some politicians to actors.
“Indeed, I don’t know how to pretend. Being a Nollywood actor in governance is aimed at other people, not some of us,” he said.
