Former Kaduna Governor Nasir El-Rufai joins PDP in the speculation of defection.
Nigeria News Nalin It is reported that former Kaduna Governor Nasir El-Rufai dismissed his speculation about the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) defection and pointed out that he had no intention of joining the party, but if all progress is made The Congress (APC) (APC) may consider other options) cannot solve its internal problems.
Speaking on TV on Monday, El-Rufai said his meeting with politicians from other parties was misunderstood, clarifying that his interactions did not indicate plans to leave the APC.
“It should be obvious that the fact that I’m in APC doesn’t mean I can’t visit my friends in PDP or SDP. So whenever I visit anyone who’s not in APC they say, “Oh, he’s in a hurry Consider leaving the party. “In fact, about two months ago, a character from Kaduna posted on his Facebook page that I collected a PDP membership card in the ward. It’s totally unreal.”
He also spoke about rumors that he had allegedly moved to the Social Democratic Party (SDP) after visiting the party’s national headquarters.
“When I visited my brother and friend Shehu Gabam at the SDP headquarters, they said, ‘Oh, he joined SDP.’ Again, not really,” he said.
However, if the parties do not return to their establishment principles, El-Rufai does not rule out the possibility of leaving the APC.
He said: “If APC doesn’t go back to where we started, I don’t know where I will end up going. But one thing I can tell you for sure is that PDP is not the party I’m going to attend. I’ve considered it. I It has been decided a long time ago, nothing has changed. In fact, if there is a PDP getting worse, then PDP is excluded.”
His comments are ongoing speculation about his political future and report that he recently met with the PDP leaders in Kaduna. The former governor confirmed the meeting, but insisted it was not politically motivated.
“I met PDP leadership a few days ago in Kaduna. The national leaders of the party came to see me and I will meet them. You know, I am a public figure of my state and age, according to my responsibilities, I’m a leader of some kind.”
El-Rufai added that he will continue to meet with cross-party politicians, stressing that such interactions should not be mistaken for defection.
“If people say they want to meet me, I won’t say, ‘You’re a PDP, I won’t meet you, or ‘You’re a SDP’, I will only meet APC people.” It’s my responsibility to meet everyone. My responsibility is to guide and guide young people across partisan divisions. So I met people, but when I met everyone, everything was reduced to politics”
When reiterating the rejection of PDP, if APC cannot solve its internal challenges, he leaves the space for readjustment.
“But PDP, no. If the APC doesn’t sort it out, other parties may.”
