
Former real social striker Andrija Delibasic has passed away after fighting cancer at the age of 43.
The former Montenegro International fought cancer for several years before being diagnosed with a brain tumor, confirmed on Tuesday.
Delibasic is also famous for himself in FK Partizan, with 100 appearances and 48 goals between 1999 and 2004.
During his time, Delibasic scored three goals in the club’s Champions League campaign, including two against Porto, who later won the game.
After confirming his death, his former club tribute began to flood social media.
Real Sociedad wrote: “We deeply regret the death of Andrija Delibašić, a player who was Txuri Urdin before the 2007/08 season. Our deepest condolences to his family and friends. Goian Bego’.
Meanwhile, Hercules said: “Hercules CF mourns the death of former blue and white player Andrija Delibašić.
“He played an important role in promoting the first division in the 2009/2010 season. He wore a Hercules jersey for two seasons and scored 20 goals. The club hopes to extend its deepest condolences to his family and friends. Tear’
Spanish colleague Rayo Vallecano wrote: “Rayo Vallecano mourns the death of our former player Andrija Delibasic”.
“Deli played for us for three seasons (2010-2013), and was promoted to the first division in 2011. We want to express our deepest condolences and send love to his family and friends. RIP DELI’.
Meanwhile, Partizan wrote: “Andrija Delibasic 1981-2025 Rest in the Legend of Peace!!!
During his international career, Delibasic played England’s back with a 2-2 2-2 draw with England’s Nets in 2011.
