Dr. Doyin Okupe, a former presidential spokesman and famous political strategist, has passed away. his Death was confirmed on Friday, March 7, 2025. Okupe, 71, is a key figure in Nigerian politics, was a former senior adviser to former President Goodluck Jonathan and most recently director of Peter Obi’s 2023 presidential campaign.
However, his political journey was marked by controversy.
In December 2022, Okupe resigned after being convicted of money laundering.
He later resigned from the Labor Party after the 2023 general election.
In a surprising political transition, Okupe became a voice supporter of President Bola Tinubu’s administration, often involved in political debates and commentary.
