The Gunners allegedly became a cult with four people in the Swali community in Jenagaya, Bayelsa State.
A community source confirmed to the Daily Trust incident on Tuesday, April 22 that the gunman invaded the community from nearby rivers on Sunday, April 20, 2025 and attacked innocent residents who had just celebrated Easter in various churches.
He said many people were also hurt by the attack, while several residents moved from the community for fear of another attack.
The Swali community has the largest market in the waterfront areas of Bayelsa State and residents travel to other parts of the state. It is also close to the Government Building.
Bayelsa State Police Commander spokesman DSP Musa Mohammed confirmed the attack, saying security has been strengthened to bring the community back to normalcy.
He said the attack may have nothing to do with cult conflicts, but measures were taken to prevent any further legal collapse.
In the attack, one of them was identified as Comrade Agada Bonkien, a former professional player in the Epie-Attissa Student League.
