
India’s Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) joined Delhi police to destroy the drug cartel, arrested five suspects, including four foreign students from “influential Nigerian families” and occupied MDMA, high-quality crystal methamphetamine and Afghan heroin worth Rs 27 crore.
The raid was conducted on Monday, March 31, 2025 in the Chatapur area of Delhi.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah announced the seizures in a statement on social media platform X, saying: “Our ruthless pursuit of illegal trade continues.”
According to officials, the special cells of the NCB and Delhi police trace the source of the drug back to rented accommodation for an African national where MDMA is being synthesized.
Five of them belong to an influential Nigerian family have been arrested, a senior MHA official said.
Effective to the investment in high-quality methamphetamine transactions in the Chhatarpur region, the joint team of NCB and special batteries intercepted a vehicle carrying 5.103 kg methamphetamine, worth Rs 10.2 crore.
Questions about the defendants and technical stalking led them to Tilak Nagar’s “African Kitchen” in West Delhi, identified as the source of contraband.
From this place, 1.156 kg of methamphetamine, 4.142 kg of Afghan heroin and 5.776 kg of MDMA (ecstasy) have been restored.
Further investigation led to a follow-up search in a rented apartment in Greater Noida, from which 389 grams of Afghan heroin and 26 grams of cocaine were found.
According to officials, the defendants are students of NCR and private universities in Punjab. In addition to drugs, it is also suspected of participating in cryptocurrency trade.
