A Nigerian woman, Quenny Ogechukwu, has walked out of marriage after she described it as four years of “physical attack, fear, pain, tears and embarrassment.”
Ogechukwu revealed this in a Facebook post on Saturday, April 5, 2025, and he recalled her journey of trauma and mentally exhausted.
According to Ogechukwu, her husband, offorbuike Ernest Ogbuyeme, allegedly locked her in the house, poured hot tea on her face in the slightest provocation, defeating her even when she was carrying a sick baby.
She further claimed that Offorbuike was beating her during the courtship, but she continued her marriage due to what people would say.
According to her, Offorbuike threatened Kïll and went to jail. She said he said he would make sure she was still alive to see him in jail.
“Yesterday, April 4, 2025. I once again mustered up the courage to leave the abusive marriage.”
I was bankrupt, scared and uncertain about the future of my progress, but now I think there is nothing scary about someone who lives with a man who thinks it’s possible to pour hot tea on my face because he’s angry, one thinks it’s possible to put his hands tightly on my throat and keke my fingers so much that his fingers dig up on my skin and leave a mark; just because I’m “rebellious” (according to him), a man who threatens to Kïll me and go to jail, but “he’ll make sure I’m alive and watch him go to jail”, one hit me and throws weapons at me, just because he’s angry or disagreement.
