French lawmakers want US to return to Statue of Liberty

A French MP in the European Parliament has boldly swept the United States under Donald Trump and called for the return of the Statue of Liberty that France has given to the United States.

Raphael Glucksmann told his Central Position Public Party supporters on Sunday: “We will say to Americans who chose to companions with the tyrant: “A fire from researchers for scientific freedom: ‘Give us the statue of freedom’. ”

“We give it to you as a gift, but obviously you despise it. So, it’s OK at home.

Glucksmann added that the United States despises the Statue of Liberty, which is the gift of the French people.

Glucksmann also sent a message to U.S.-based scientists who were hit by Trump’s billionaire Elon Musk through the so-called government efficiency ministry’s Department of Efficiency.

“If you want to fire the best researchers – those who make your country a world-leading force through freedom, innovation and pursuit of knowledge, then we welcome them.”

The Statue of Liberty was unveiled at the port of New York City on October 28, 1886 as a gift from the French people to the United States for a century. It was designed by the Frenchman Auguste Bartholdi.
