The founder of the Anointed Church of Salvation Proclaimers, Pastor Toby Adeboyega, has come under fresh scrutiny over allegations involving a 19-year-old girl living abroad.
A distraught woman reportedly contacted author and commentator Solomon Butch about claims that a cleric allegedly had an affair with her daughter. According to her, Pastor Adeboyega was said to be working through another church member named Maryam, who allegedly helped attract young girls into the church.
The woman claimed the pastor instructed members not to follow or listen to other spiritual leaders. She further claimed that Mariam engaged in harmful spiritual practices and that people she brought into the church often suffered negative consequences.
She also accused Pastor Adeboyega of encouraging young members to cut ties with their families after joining the church. In a recording shared with Solomon Butch, the woman, who requested anonymity, said she feared her daughter might be further isolated from her family, something that has allegedly happened in the past.
According to her, the family owned a house in London but her daughter was allegedly influenced to leave the home and move into what she described as a “trap house” attached to a church. She further claimed that her 19-year-old daughter was persuaded to take on a debt of £350,000.
The woman went on to claim that reports and rumors about Pastor Adeboyega were accurate, urging the public to conduct independent research on him. She also claimed that the cleric allegedly paid individuals to connect with celebrities.
Pastor Adeboyega has faced several controversies in the past. In 2023, a footballer accused him of playing a role in the breakdown of his marriage. Separately, while reacting to the controversy surrounding his DNA, the pastor reportedly made light of the situation, joking that his children should go home.
