Despite the political crisis, Fubara shows progress
Despite the ongoing political disruption in the state, Fubara expressed pleasure in unveiling another firefighting facility.
“I am very happy again to show one thing we have done to prove that the interests of our people appear first in our government.” He said.
He recalled that when the inauguration of the remodeled River Fire Headquarters, he announced the completion of two additional subsites – one in Polokiri, one in Polokiri, the site was commissioned earlier and one in Rumuodomaya.

Stakeholders praise Fobala’s leadership
At the inauguration, Chief Director Hanny Woko, a key stakeholder in the OBIO/AKPOR local government area, praised the governor for delivering human-oriented projects despite political turmoil in the state.
The local government with FCT Minister Nyesom Wike and Rivers Assembly Speaker Martin Amaewhule called on Woko, who urged all political players to allow Governor Fubara to complete his term peacefully.
He stressed the need for fair and fair competition, stressing that the Ikweers had been governor for 16 years and that was only the correctness of other ethnic groups, such as the ijaw people represented by Forbala.
“We, the people of Ikwell, thank you for the support we have when we have power. Now, it’s just that we extend the same support to others. We must respect democracy and allow Governor Fobara to reach his entire term.” Woko said.
He further condemned the political crisis in Rivers and urged politicians to learn from states like Lagos, where governance transitions were managed without unnecessary conflict.
“We should borrow a leaf from sister states like Lagos. Their governors have stable rule. Yes, conflicts can occur, but the focus must always be on putting the country first,” he said. He added.
Fire Department renovated after 13 years of neglect
Woko praised the River State Government for renovating the Rumuodomaya Fire Department, which has been abandoned for 13 years since its construction by the tens of millions of Waich government.
He said states without functional fire service are vulnerable, adding that Governor Fobara has taken a bold step to ensure the river is protected.
“We thank your Excellency for your ongoing governance without noticing the distractions around you.” Woko said.
