Nigeria News Nalin It is reported that River Governor Siminalayi Fubara invited River Parliament members from the Riverside State Capitol to attend a meeting at Harcourt Port Government Building at 10:00 am on Monday, March 10.
The invitation was conveyed in a letter signed by state government Tammy Danagogo on Sunday.
The letter addressed House Speaker Martin Amaewhule that the meeting came after the governor received a Supreme Court decision.
Governor Fobara stressed that the meeting will focus on “providing the meetings of the Parliament with the right venue, all outstanding compensation and allowances for honorary members, presentations of budget and related matters, and any other necessary issues designed to promote the best interests of the state.”
The governor expressed expectations for the attendance of the members of parliament and noted that the discussion aims to “draw the way forward for the good people in the River State.”
The state legislature has issued a 48-hour final atum to the governor, and has proposed a 2025 budget after the Supreme Court’s decision, which is not in his favor.
