Siminalayi Fubara, the special assistant to electronic media of the governor of Hezhou, Jerry Omatsogunwa, accused the sole administrator of Ibok-ete Ibas deputy administrator (Retd.) of inciting the state’s crisis.
Naija News Omatsogunwa reportedly claimed in an interview with the Daily Mail on Thursday that Ibas has appointed loyalists from the Federal Capital Territory Minister (FCT) Nyesom Wikeas the sole manager of 23 local government areas in the state.
He said that only one state of 36 states cannot be ruled urgently, and he stressed that Ibas also confirmed that the River State was very peaceful.
Omatsogunwa further pointed out that extending the emergency was unnecessary as residents were excited among residents calling for Fubara to restore its original state.
He said “If you live in the state, you will also know that even the only executive who comes in proves that River State is very peaceful and there is no crisis here.
“If the guy they brought here on his virgin radio said there was no crisis here, it means he shouldn’t even be here.
“So, I can’t see anything that extends the emergency. And, you’ve been seeing restlessness in the streets of Port Harcourt, people are calling for the replacement of democratic instruments in Rivers.”
Omatsogunwa neither confirmed nor denied the meeting when he delivered a report on Governor Fubara’s meeting with Bola Tinubu on weekends in London, noting that if such a meeting occurs, it would be a positive step towards finding a way forward for the state.
