The federal government issued a warning through the Nigeria Meteorological Agency (NIMET) that seriously affects Gombe and 17 other northern states.

Nimet’s weather outlook, released on Friday, highlighted the warning and shared it with the Nigerian News Agency (NAN) Gath MosesGormbe State weather manager, Saturday.
According to the agency’s data, temperatures are expected to rise to 40°C from Saturday, which will lead to thermal discomfort in the affected state.

Musa advises Gombe residents to take positive steps to minimize thermal stress, as rising temperatures and high humidity can lead to serious health effects.
He advises residents to avoid excessive sun exposure, stay in well-ventilated areas, and wear breathable clothes. “Drink plenty of water to avoid sun hours between 12pm and 3pm and then use sun protection,” he added.
In addition, he urged residents to focus on vulnerable individuals, such as children and the elderly, and to raise awareness of the risks of heat stress and preventive measures.
