    Nigerian singer, Chidozie Godsfavor Ugochinyere, popularly known as Fave, has shared her confusion over the organizers’ advice not to hold a birthday concert because it falls during the holy month of Ramadan (February 18 to March 19, 2026).

    Fave had originally planned to hold her first concert in Nigeria on her birthday on March 13, but revealed organizers were hesitant about the timing.

    “I wanted to do a show in Nigeria for my birthday this year but they told me they weren’t allowed during Ramadan? I was a little confused.” she tweeted.

    The Christian singer, who grew up in southern Nigeria, added that she only learned about the customs of Ramadan when she was a teenager.

    While expressing respect for all religions, Fife stressed that she still wanted the celebrations to continue.

    “Starting this year I want to do my first show as an independent artist in Nigeria on my birthday and promoters keep messaging my team saying the same thing. I grew up in the south and never heard of Ramadan customs until I was a teenager. I respect all religions. But I am a Christian and I really want to do this on my birthday so I would love it if you are reading this and would like to organize,” she wrote.

    Her tweet sparked mixed reactions online. Some fans encouraged her to go ahead with her plans, while others warned that holding the concert during Ramadan could affect ticket sales.

    @JusNuttela: “You want to perform in Abuja during Ramadan, who goes?”

    @Ọmọ Akin: “They are not telling you that shows are not allowed, they are just suggesting that hosting a show during Ramadan may not attract a large audience. Let’s put it that way, don’t paint the religion in a bad light.”

    @EmmawiseXP: “Nigeria is not a Muslim country… Ramadan only exists in certain parts of the north.”

    @Swaggzeez1: “Which part of Nigeria are you talking about? Last time I checked, you were from the eastern part of the country and no one can say you shouldn’t do a show because of @ramadan in the east. No one can say you shouldn’t do a show in Lagos and everywhere in South West Nigeria, same goes for some parts of South South and North Central.”

    @trendset36: “Why? So if it’s Drake or Justin Bieber, they’re going to stop him because of Ramadan? That’s not fair at all. Come to Enugu and you’ll definitely get more love than anywhere else in Nigeria.”

    @JohnNetworQ: “Going to this show?”
