Suspicious gangsters burned Juma’at Mosque in the main medical center and at least 10 residences in Biyabiki Village, TSAFE local government area, Zamfara State.
The attack took place around 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 12, with revenge from armed loyalists considered to be the infamous robber leader Adamu Aliero.
Local sources have compared the incident with the failure of the recent killing of Arioro’s younger brother, Isuhu Yellow, and his biological son, being deployed to security forces in the Keita area about three weeks ago. According to witnesses, the attackers rushed into the village and set fire to burn multiple buildings without causing any death or kidnapping.
“They only set up the burning, including our juma’at mosque and local clinics,” one resident said. “They also destroyed 10 houses in the attack that lasted nearly an hour.”
The same group had earlier attacked the village of Tasaglu on Saturday, burning more houses, which was believed to be a coordinated attack by neighboring communities. “We don’t know what they want to achieve by burning public facilities and houses,” the resident added. “Our community has been under threat since the death of Jimo Yellow. We firmly believe it is part of a wider revenge campaign.”
