The High Court of the Federal Capital of Abuja has sentenced Peter Nwachukwu, husband of late gospel singer Osinachi Nwachukwu to death.

The prosecution convened 17 witnesses, including the two children of the deceased, and tendered 25 exhibitions.
Judge Nwosu-iheme believes that the prosecution has proved no doubt about his case.

Despite the leniency against Nwachukwu’s lawyer Reginald Nwali, the court sentenced him to death by hanging on the 1st Earl and other charges. Nwachukwu was fined N700,000 in total.
The famous Nigerian gospel singer Osinachi Nwachukwu died on April 8, 2022 at the age of 42. Her death caused widespread anger on allegations of domestic violence against her husband. The case has attracted great attention and stressed the importance of addressing domestic violence and protecting victims’ rights.
