Bayelsa Governor Douye Diri denied the charges that showed he was responsible for the pregnancy of former big brother Naija Housemate, Nengi Rebecca Hampson.

Diri attributes the virus claims to political opponents who are trying to undermine their reputation.
Rumors have attracted attention after a popular blogging platform claimed that Governor Diri was involved in the pregnancy of a former BBN star. However, Nengi publicly debunked speculation on her social media account.

Governor Diri responded to the report, expressing shock and disappointment, questioning why the falsehood was spread, especially on the day his administration marked its fifth anniversary.

His new media director, Dr. Kola Oredipe, talked about these claims in an article on social media, viewing them as baseless fabrications.

“Nengi Rebecca Hampson has no personal relationship with Governor Diri. Unfortunately, the vendors of fake news are not satisfied with the governor’s towering political image,” Oredipe said.

Oredipe further criticized the spread of misinformation on social media, saying it was an attempt to disperse government achievements.

“It’s a distraction, and some of us have great reasons for this, and that’s many reasons that are provided to regulate the use of various social media platforms,” the governor’s aide added.

“Sadly, when we opened a brand new path in Yenagoa, the social media e-gun spread the falsehood about the governor.”

Oredipe described Governor Diri as a person of honor and dignity, reiterating that the allegations were politically motivated and had no factual basis.
