Governor Forbala has spoken about taking action against the Supreme Court ruling.

Nigeria News Nalin The report said Rivers Governor Siminalayi Fubara has acknowledged the Supreme Court’s ruling to RT. honor. Martin Amaewhule and 26 are valid members of the Rivers State Capitol.

In a statement released by Joe Johnson in a message on Friday, Forbala said his administration is reviewing the implications of the judgment, especially its impact on state funding and local government administration.

“At present, we are waiting to introduce the meaning of the judgment in detail. We will carefully evaluate the situation and determine the next step in taking the best interests of the River State and its people,” the statement said.

Although the governor acknowledged that the Supreme Court’s ruling effectively restored 27 legislators, he insisted that the defectors’ core issues (which led to their controversial status) were not filed in the Supreme Court at the time because it was still being heard in the Federal High Court in Port Harcourt.

“As the defector’s question was not on the table before the learned justices, Amavul and 26 other legislators remained until they were in front of them,” the statement said.

Forbala assured the people of Rivers that his government remains committed to protecting the best interests of the country and upholding the rule of law in all matters.

He urged residents to remain calm and law-abiding as the government seeks legal clarification on the ruling and its broader implications.
