
Governor of Jigava State Umar Namadi approved the reduction of working hours for civil servants during the Ramadan fast in 2025.
The announcement was made in a statement Tuesday, March 4 in a statement issued by the State Civil Service Public Relations Director Muhammad Dagaceri, in the state capital Dutse.
“Effective immediately, the state’s civil servants will now report to the office at 9:00 a.m. and close Monday to Thursday at 3:00 p.m. This is a reduction of two hours from the previous 5:00 p.m. closure time. On Friday, civil servants will report at 9:00 AM and close at 1:00 p.m., in accustomed to close at 1:00 p.m.,” Dagaceri said. He explained that the adjustment was designed to give civil servants more time to rest for daily Ramadan and engage in mental activities.
“Hopefully, the state’s civil servants will use the Ramadan period to pray for God’s guidance and blessings,” he said. Dagacheri also stressed the importance of praying for peace and economic prosperity for the country and nation.
“Reducing working hours is a welcome move by civil servants in the state, who will now have more time to focus on their mental activities during the Holy Month. We want to provide them with plenty of time to observe their mental activities and prepare for their Ramadan breaks,” he said. He added that the government’s decision reflects its commitment to creating a supportive work environment for employees, especially during Ramadan.
“The state’s civil servants are expected to take advantage of this opportunity to focus on their spiritual activities and have a great time with their families,” he said.
